Alaska celebrities took the wheel at the North Star Speedway in Wasilla on Saturday, June 4th. From Miss Alaska, Sara Smith, to the Alaska Aces Head Coach, Brent Thompson, to one of the co-stars of TLC's "Sarah Palin's Alaska", Willow Palin, the 16 year-old daughter of the series' namesake and former Alaska Governor, the speedway was brightly lit with local stars.
Proving she's also the daughter of one of the fastest snowmachiners in the Last Frontier, four-time Iron Dog champion, Todd Palin, Willow finished in a respectable 4th place out of 11 Motocross racers, reports the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.
Governor Palin spoke of Willow's driving skills in her 2009 best-selling book, Going Rogue: "She [Willow] grew into a little motorhead... to this day she is our athletic powerhouse, riding snowmachines and ATVs with more skill and confidence than most guys twice her age."
Watch a few clips of Willow's race and end-of-race interview:
Drive, Willow, Drive!!
